Cannery Schedule

Listed below are our ward's scheduled cannery dates for 2009:

*Each of the scheduled dates is a Saturday 1:00 PM session. The session typically lasts for 3-4 hours.




Members who wish to participate should download a form, fill it out and email the filled out form to Carey Jacobson at least one week prior to the session.

The Home Storage Center doesn't allow young children to be present for safety reasons and no open-toed shoes are allowed.

Wednesday the 17th is the Cookie Exchange/Lunch Bunch at Maria Edgington's home.

Please bring a potluck lunch item and 2 dozen of any kind of holiday treat. We'll eat, visit and go home with lots of fun goodies! See you there!

Elder Joseph B. Worthlin Passed Away

Joseph B. Wirthlin, Oldest Apostle, Dies, Age 91

SALT LAKE CITY 2 December 2008 Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, the oldest living apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died last night, age 91.

Elder Wirthlin had gone to bed at his Salt Lake City home, and died peacefully at about 11:30 pm of causes incident to age. His oldest daughter, Jane Wirthlin Parker, was present. A member of the family had been staying and caring for Elder Wirthlin, whose wife, Elisa Young Rogers Wirthlin, died in 2006.

He had continued to work at his office right up until the Thanksgiving holiday.

Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Recipe Exchange

Hello, Healthy Living Members!

We'd like to do a recipe exchange/share on the Healthy Living blog. Every month we'll pick a theme, for example November is "party treats", and we'd love for all the members to share their favorite, healthy recipes on the theme. We really look forward to trying all of your wonderful recipes! Thanks!

Hope Center Hygiene Drive

The hygeine drive for the Edmond Hope Center ends this Sunday, Nov. 16th. Please bring your donations to the RS room this Sunday where a box is waiting!


Items Needed: shampoo, shaving cream, soap, toilet paper, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, tampons, sanitary pads, toothpaste, & toothbrushes


Monetary Donations: If you wish to make monetary donations, see Clint Foote, Beto Villarreal, Matt Babcock, Lorenzo Savage, or Tanner Pitts. We are accepting donations in cash, check or money order.

Healthy Living

Sisters,
as was announced on Sunday, the Healthy Living Group would like to form workout sessions for anyone interested in getting in shape! The group will meet to do challenging DVD workout videos that last about 50minutes. We will meet at 6am on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays. We will also meet at 8:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The MWF group will be in the baptismal font rooms and the T-Th group will meet in the cultural hall. Children are welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We hope everyone who wants to fulfill their goals of living healthier and exercising will join us! We'll be using varied DVD workouts from Biggest Loser, Beach Body, etc. so expect to see results! We are all striving together and encourage everyone to come!
